RoG has always been or supposed to have been a guild for players who first and foremost love to raid. Not just one aspect of raiding but all aspects of it. Ofcourse people raid in wow for different reasons and some players only love progress and only consider killing new bosses for progression. For myself I never believed in this, to me progress is as much being part of a team and team work in many forms, so killing bosses faster or facing same bosses yet again but with new setup. Having players getting geared up better etc. I personally love all aspects of raiding also the comradarie you can get and RoG is/was always supposed to be a place for players who feel similar ie who love raiding more than anything even progress Happy

Therefore it is with some regret but also some relief I have today (along with officers) Choosen to make some changes:
I have as most possibly have noticed removed some players from the guild, who doesnt share in the values which guild is about. These players are not at fault in as much as they just raid for different reasons than "we" do. But the way they wish to raid has a negative impact on how RoG Raids. Their focus turns negative when things dont go according to plan and they become negatively focused on others and the raid team.
While I will reckognize this approach to progressing can work and indeed does so for many players in other guilds, this is and was never what RoG was/is supposed to be like. Therefore these players have and will never have any role to play in RoG or its raid team and with all respect I have choosen to remove them so RoG can at least finish the raid tier/expansion as the guild it is/always was supposed to be.

Finally if we are to fail, at whatever level, we do so as a guild. This part is as much an invitation to those who are still in the guild/raid team. Lately I have gotten a number of emails, messages etc with comments along the lines of I only raid because I feel I have to - well for those and the rest of us I have added in this little video passage below Happy

Raiding is supposed to be fun and the idea of wiping at garrosh hc at 0.1% last night of the raid tier with players who are only there raiding with me because they feel or felt they had to isnt appealing to me. So on to the practical stuff
1. Patch 6.0 is due out "few weeks" before WoD releases on Nov 13th.
2. This means Patch 6.0 is due out minimum 2 and maximum 4 weeks before that date
3. This means from today we got 4 to 6 weeks - equal to 12 to 18 raids, which in turn if you dont include any farm is equal to *20 wipes per raid night 240 to 360 wipes, to clear SoO hc in one form or another.
4. We could continue to try and build up a 25man / 20man mythic team, while more and more loose interest to raid, in turn making them drop attendance which again makes it harder to build up team, this approach given the timeline isnt doable
5. Therefore as a team RoG will swap focus to a full 14hc clear in 10man. We will work on this as a team and while overall attendance and positive attitude will be key factors when picking starting 10man - we will invovle as much of team as possible, swapping in and out roles as and where it makes sense.

I can tell you that the 10man raid teams I have spoken to who have cleared 10hc, have found it much easier to build up to and progress further in 25man than we have as well. And as Patch 6.0 also will remove all 10man hc concent and Cutting edge achievement, at that point we wont be the only guild/team looing for players to get in some Mythic 20man kills in SoO Mythic before WoD

We will stream all raids live and there are also a number of other MoP HC achievements the guild needs for those who wont be in on the various fights - again this is a guild effort and if you choose to be part of it your expected to be active and offer the guild all the assistance in achieving its goals you as a player can offer.
