re: Important mail sent today regarding changes for raid planner

0
Hi all,
I am currently updating guilds raid rules which you will find when finished in the new RoG official forum along with other good stuff.

As this is taking some more time than anticipated i have emailed some important changes to everyone today (note it is sent to the email you use to access raid planner with)

As not all may see this mail prior to raid and for good measure i am also posting it here as a news item.
Start of mail******

Hi Crashtest here,
I have important information regarding updated Raid Planner.
Several fields have changed or have been added to the Raid Planner and it is important you fill

the new fields in correctly before next raid.

Change 1.
After players names you will now see one of several abbreviations in brackets.
Group Leader (GL), Tank role (T), Melee role (M), Healer role (H), Ranged role (R).
Some players have more than one, those are the players considered hybrid ie they have two specs both of which are treated as main specs from a loot/gearing point of view.

Change 2. Field 5 called Progression priority dps only.
This field is used by Raid Leader, where weekly following farm raid players dps/performance is evaluated and a rought estimate is made per role/class. This in turn is then used to ensure that the strongest team possible is setup on progression figthts. Note dps is not solely judged by dps number and players activity during encounters is also evaluated.
This is not intended to be used either for minor increases in raid dps ie to constantly bench a player who does 5k less than another. Rather this is to ensure that the very top of dps ie players doing 20-50k more are not benched on first kills where their performance will allow the team as a whole to down bosses faster for the benefit of entire raid team.

Change 3. Field 6 called Bench tracker
Used to ensure that those players who are benched on progression fights alternate so that its not the same players each fight/raid who are benched

Note 1. Both Change 2 and 3 are only relevant on the progression raids/fights where more than 25 suitable players are online and the Bench system is used. Note ranks (Main/Casual/Trial) is not in itself a guarantee you get a spot on every progression/first kill.

Change 4. Field 7. called Player ilvl(Legendary)
Write down your item level (equipped) and put a L after if you have the Legendary cloak. In case your hybrid put in two item levels as such iLvl1 / Ilvl2 and put L after each if you have legendary cloak for that spec. Update each week before Wednesday raid.

Change 5. Field 8. called Farm Boss Priority Prio/coins
In this field you write down boss number so ie 1 for Immersus if that boss has a significant upgrade/drop for your raid spec (or either spec if your hybrid).
If the boss drops a tier item you need put a t after number and if you intend to use a coin roll for that boss put a c after the number

Change 6. Field 9 called Minor loot
In this field you do same as in field 8 but if boss drops minor loot ie your 3rd choice neck or a normal to warforged upgrade which is small in terms of increase to stats (Note I know not all warforged upgrades are small in stat increases)

Change 7. Field 10 called No loot needed
Here you write up the number of any bosses where you do not need loot

Note 2:
Change 5, 6 and 7 are only used to pre determine raid setup and swap in/out spots for farm raids. Do not write down numbers of bosses yet to be killed and do not write down a boss you need gear from if it is for a offspec which is not reckognized by Raid Leader. If you have an offspec you would like to geared as well and feel would be of significanse to the Raid team talk to the Raid Leader.

On farm raids ie raids where we kill bosses every week in order to farm gear for players, the guild uses a swap in/out system for raiders (Main/Casual and trial ranks) to ensure the ppl who need gear from a certain boss also are the ppl in the raid for that specific boss. In order for this to run smoothly guild has setup some rules on how it is predetermined before raid start who swaps with who for what bosses. So that the swapping happens smoothly and without causing delays for the raid.

Keep in mind, to ensure raid runs smoothly, that some players may not be swapped regardless. It is always the Raid leaders final call who goes on what bosses and this system is for farm raids only.

For progression raids you will also see a number in field 6 ranking dps players. These rankings are updated weekly and based on recent dps numbers at key fights. This number along with field 7 where we keep track of any players recently benched for progression raids are both used to determine who goes on Bench on a progression fight, again keep in mind final call is always up to raid leader, but in general for progression if more than 25ppl available raid leader pick strongest setup to get first kill (note bosses may count as progression also first week(s) where they are farmed).
This means in general a core of tanks / healers and highest dps within each role wont be benched, at the same time we also make sure ppl on Bench are rotated.

For Bench these are the general rules:
1. Always join the Bench chat channel (Type /join Bench)
2. For farm raids you must have updated raid planner with what bosses you need loot from - failure to do so means in case of xtra players online you will not be eligeble to be swapped in and out
3. If you log an alt always make sure you inform Raid leader and join Bench chat on alt as well.
4. For farm raids make sure you know exactly what tactics are used and what your role is for any the fight(s) your joining.
5. Be online 30min before raid start.
This is when setup ie who swaps with who for what fights is determined, if
you show up later you may not be eligleble to get swapped in/out as.
This is to prevent delays to raids progress.
6. For farm raids, if your Benched and only join fights where you need loot, your informed prior to raid start who will swap with you for a given boss. That player and Raid leader will whisper you once before boss, you must reply to whisper and enter raid instance immediatly. No summoning.
Same goes for original player when they rejoin raid after that boss. If your afk you loose your spot for that boss.
If you log off completely you loose spots for remainder of raid.
7. If your on Bench for a progression raid (fight) stay online and in Bench chat channel for duration of raid evening or be immediatly reachable by other means. If you log off without talking to Raid leader first and/or are unreachable you will not get "credit for Bench" and will be Benched for following raid again.

Best Regards
Crashtest
